Board games

BOARD GAMES

My little list of indoor games I used to game around during my little days and yes, of course, few that I still play: -

Operation
How I loved this game during my childhood days. Loved removing those tiny bits using tweezers without touching the sides. The buzz and glaring red nose were things much awaited when it was my siblings' turn :-D.

Operation
Snakes and Ladders
This sure is an epic game. How simpler could it get - roll the dice, you either climb up the ladder or get bitten by those snakes! You are either blessed with that only long ladder or your heart sinks with that one and only mighty big snake. A fun game, I say!

Snakes and Ladders
Monopoly
This one has several versions. Got electronic in no time, making it even more realistic and fun (no am not referring to video games)! This gets the business mind out of you. How well you deal with cash by buying properties and hotels! So cool, even to date...
Monopoly

Cluedo
Oh, I love this one! Mystery game. Who killed Mr. Black, with which weapon, in what room! The cute miniature weapons. Miss Scarlett was always whom I would pick.

Cluedo

Life - The Game Of Life

A totally family game. Just roll the dice and move ahead. Simple, fun, relaxing and no breaking of head. Just pick your piece, move on with life - college, job related, marriage, kids, retirement. How well can you handle LIFE?
Game of Life

Mini Race tracks with mini cars

Oh this is simple cute and cool. Just attach all those tracks, going straight and in loops and then attach your cars and see your respective car zooooom!

Mastermind

I was disliked for selecting this game for my birthday. Well, true it is for 2 players. Hey, its a guess plus memory game. What ever one may say, I still love being the code-maker or code-breaker. And those pegs make the game cute and worth playing :P

Mastermind

Bingo
Once again, epic game! Had 2 variations to this one. One being the cards and the other being Spin Bingo. Spin was easy and more fun. Nevertheless, Bingo in any form is worth the SHOUT!

Bingo

Risk
Aaah! Conquer! Conquer! A strategic game to fight the battle and conquer your opponents territory. Fight till you conquer the continent. We used to fight (for real), mess the board (losing opponent) and at times, keep the board as it is to continue the next day! So addictive and keeps your mind working!
Game Of Risk

Chess / Checkers / Backgammon
Honestly, I was not a fan of Chess or Backgammon - then and now. Never had the interest, so never won any. Though, I know the moves... inevitably! Strategic game again. Loved checkers though.

Carroms
This is an indoor physical game. Yes, I still do have it and still do play. This was my pool/snooker table then and now :). Coming to think of it, I vaguely remember having a mini pool table!

Battleship

Again, 2 players (not sure if a 4 player version is out. Several variations have come up)! A guessing game I picked up during my college days. Was fun only when I struck my opponent's ship. Till then it is a tense moment - wondering how this dude/dudette has placed their ships, strategically!
Battleship
Ludo
Roll the dice. Be the first to reach your home. Simple and fun.
Ludo
Scrabble
Oh how I love playing with words. The next few games are to do with words and vocabulary. As for this one, Shuffle and make your best words acceptable by a standard dictionary. Those 2 letter words are so helpful ;).

Scrabble
Taboo
This I picked up from my social circle. A game of words. Your team mate have to guess the word. You can use clues apart from the ones mentioned on the card you picked up :). I can understand if one goes panicky and nervous trying to fetch clues for even simple words!

Taboo
Funglish
So you have 120 descriptive tiles that you can use as clues for your team mate to guess the word. You have to use combination of these tiles that best describes the word you picked up - no talk, no actions! The only drawback I see for this game is - the setting part!

Funglish
Pictionary
Again a word game. Where your team mate have to guess the word through your DRAWING! Yes, I love to draw...

Pictionary

Oh, and you have board games like Da Vinci Code as well ;)

I understand all these games have gone e-gaming. But hey, board-games are always fun. More a personal touch! Personally speaking, I say, no video games can beat the actual board games' thrill, excitement and fun!
