Innumerable rape cases - heard and unheard have passed by over the years. A barbaric inhumane Delhi Rape Case (Amanat) created massive protests and public outrage!
13 days of "fighting for life" and on 29th Dec, 2012 she breathed her last at Singapore Hospital.
Now what about the accused? What will their punishment be - Chemical castration and 30 years imprisonment? Will public counter violence stop such acts? Awaiting Government's final judgement for such a heinous act.
Meanwhile... what are the possible triggers to raping a woman? What could be the input or feeding of the brain/mindset to commit such an act where there is no consent from a woman to be sexually involved?
Family background?
Social Influence?
Movies / Ads / Songs with suggestive meaning?
Porn?
Women themselves?
Family background
An upset family background that can create a mental imbalance?
Negative social influence
Where an individual have an effect of sub consciously believing and then behaving like other friends involved in alcohol, drugs, nasty talks about women, eve teasing, adultery, murder and the like.
Movies and ads / Suggestive songs
I do admit few movies have good story lines. But quite a few (or maybe more than a few) make their way through women and movie scenes; their seductive moves, the pelvic thrusts, the item songs, the bare minimum outfits, the suggestive double meaning lyrics, the raunchy comments against woman which we laugh upon. All of which could stir up sexual violence. Several movies that have rape, bondage, oral, incest, snuff bondage, heavy gore. Pleasure from extreme pain?! Sadistic world... We have commercial ads that objectifies women for men to use. AXE ads are degrading where a woman is hunting down a man who is wearing AXE. Again a sexy and wild ad which portrays women as objects to desire upon and to please men. All these suggestive AD dialog's are a daily feed to the mind. Amidst family, there may be instances where you change the channel or walk out when certain ads are being aired. Maybe we bring in some topic for diversion sake. Do movies influence people behavior in real life?
Porn
This has brought about new views to sex and relationships. Personal contentment or enacting what you watched can to a certain degree influence rape, mental issues, child abuses, dissatisfaction with sexual relationship. Considering the range of porn - hardcore, bondage, child porn, incest, forced rape and several other nasty classifications, this is today considered "normal" and THE way to make love - both for men and women! It is more of a masculine culture where women are treated in all possible slave manner - insert objects, ejaculate all over her, no caressing, no tender strokes, no loving warmth or any other womanly emotions considered... they are just an object of satisfaction for men to lust and use over and over again! Porn a multi-billion dollar industry - thanks to all the clicks from all over the world. Thanks to all the men/women who promote porn with those clicks which leads to certain after effects! A simple click for momentary pleasure can get your own woman a victim of some deadly danger - physical, mental, psychological, sexual dangers. Porn: THE "source of information & contentment"?
Women themselves
I have heard many say that the clothes women wear should not be the reason to rape. Also heard, even if a woman is nude, it does not give the right to rape. True! But do a woman realize that provocative clothes bring in temptation? Men are visualizers; some control their emotions; others are barbaric with mental issues and have to get their hands on any woman who have the assets. Maybe women are hidden lovers of compliments, fame, money. Women are tempted to go to malls to buy the latest in fashion, accessories, handbags, footwear etc. Are they tempted to enact, be noticeable and glamorous? Temptation can happen to both genders; I understand that rather than knowingly or unknowingly provoking and being a trigger to social danger, control your actions. Stop acknowledging raunchy demoralizing comments. Begin first to respect yourself, then among your girl friends. Can hidden, subtle messages ALSO affect the mindset of men?
Is it better to wait for a consequence to take place and then take measures to correct an action OR is it even better to correct ourselves first and educate the generation we bringing up? We the "problem" needs to be rectified before having to begin the blame game! What will you do today/rest of your life to bring on a positive change?
